Our recent roundtables have focused on the challenges of Race and White Privilege. St. Louis Catholic Worker came and spoke about events in Ferguson, MO and their role as white activists. Dr. Wallace Hartsfield Jr. spoke to us about religious and historical myths that perpetuate racism. KCMO School Board Member-at Large, Amy Hartsfield discussed how race is effecting our communities and education.
This coming friday will be our final roundtable for this season. It will be a chance to follow up on some of these conversations and the ongoing challenges in our country to date. We will discuss on a more informal and personal level the struggles we face, individually, structurally and theologically, with racism and white privilege. We will spend part of our time in small group conversation.
